Book burning

Book burning was the act of setting heretical literature on fire to destroy it.

The Inquisition set Galileo Galilei's books on fire after the scientist was tried and convicted for saying the Earth revolved around the sun. Jake Sisko called their actions stupid. (DS9: "In the Hands of the Prophets")
