Boardwalk

A boardwalk was a type of pedestrian road that existed on Earth during the late 20th century.

While stuck in 1996, the crew of the USS Voyager elected to start their investigation at a Los Angeles boardwalk. (VOY: "Future's End")

This boardwalk was recognizable as the Santa Monica Pier.
