Wild boar was a game animal similar to a pig.

In 2151, Jonathan Archer, aghast at the Eska hunting the sentient Wraith, felt there was a difference between that and hunting wild boar. (ENT: "Rogue Planet")

Korob created a table consisting of several foods, including a boar's head with an apple in the mouth on a platter of greens. (TOS: "Catspaw")

Worf's pet targ in TNG: "Where No One Has Gone Before" was played by a Russian wild boar named Emmy-Lou.
