Blind date

A blind date was a social engagement between two persons who had not previously met, usually arranged by a mutual friend.

In 2151, when Travis Mayweather expressed his disappointment that ship-to-ship sensors weren't working and therefore he could not see what the Xyrillians looked like, Trip Tucker quipped, "I'll just think of it as a blind date." (ENT: "Unexpected")
