The Vetar with a damaged port blade

A blade was a structural component, found on Cardassian Galor-class and Keldon-class warships, which housed the ship's warp nacelles.

When attempting to determine where the Cardassian fleet was hiding their ships in 2369, Geordi La Forge discreetly performed a quantum resonance scan of the Reklar pointing out that the ship "had some minor hull degradation along their warp nacelles. The distribution pattern [along the blade] indicates a recent exposure to a molecular dispersion field." (TNG: "Chain Of Command, Part II")

When the Vetar pursued the Val Jean through the plasma storms in tbe Badlands in 2371, it was hit on the port blade by a plasma streamer, disabling the ship. (VOY: "Caretaker")
