Bitter (taste)

If something was bitter, that meant it had a strong, slightly sour, unpleasant taste.

When Keiko O'Brien was having one of her childhood memories restored via telepathy in 2368, she imagined reaching out and tasting some liquid in the cup she remembered, which tasted bitter. (TNG: "Violations")
