Beta Canopus

Beta Canopus was an inhabited Federation planet that was located somewhere in the Alpha or Beta Quadrant.

This planet had a naturally occurring pharmaceutical drug called strobolin. Strobolin was found on only a few planets in the Milky Way Galaxy. It was used to treat choriocytosis in Vulcans and other races with blood not based on iron.

History

The starship USS Potemkin visited Beta Canopus in 2270 to obtain strobolin that was to be shipped to the USS Enterprise by way of the freighter Huron. (TAS: "The Pirates of Orion")

Stellar cartography

The planet's location was labeled in a star chart found on the navigation console of the USS Enterprise-B in 2293. Its location was marked by the symbol of the Starfleet delta. (Star Trek Generations)
