Stellar cartography

In 2399, the location of this system was labeled on a Federation star chart that was in Fleet Admiral Kirsten Clancy's office at Starfleet Headquarters. This system was in or near to space claimed by the Romulan Free State. (PIC: "Maps and Legends")

This star system was only mentioned in writing.
In the episode "Disengage", the location of this star system was seen on the bridge of the SS Eleos XII on what appears to be an updated chart from Star Trek: Star Charts. Dave Blass published pictures of the set on his website.
Further information on this system could be had from the Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 66) and the Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Stellar Cartography", pp. 32-33; "Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"). The stars of the Belak system were classified as a G-class star and K-class star. The Belak system was identified as a Romulan system in a star chart created by Stellar Archive Artist Lsel Essik in 2366 for the Romulan Master Data Catalog.
