Behavioral characteristic

A behavioral characteristic was a trait or attribute that would describe how someone acted, responded, or behaved in different situations.

In 2370, while describing introns to Jean-Luc Picard, Data said, "They are genetic codes which are normally dormant. They are evolutionary holdovers, sequences of DNA that provided key behavioral and physical characteristics millions of years ago, but are no longer necessary." (TNG: "Genesis")
