Bed rest

Bed rest was a period of medically recommended time spent in bed, with or without sleeping. It was prescribed for individuals who needed to recuperate from their illness or injury.

In 2151, Doctor Phlox noted that bed rest was the only cure he knew of for Malcolm Reed's common cold. (ENT: "Sleeping Dogs")

In 2270, Leonard McCoy informed the Enterprise yeoman that he was going to be getting a few days' bed rest, for an unknown injury or ailment, despite the fact that the doctor didn't think he deserved it. (TAS: "How Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth")

In 2374, The Doctor recommended bed rest for Kellin after he treated her fractured bone. (VOY: "Unforgettable")
