A Gelrakian battle blade

A battle blade was a type of blade designed to be used in a sword fight.

On Gelrak V, battle blades were used for trial by combat. In 2380, Commander Jack Ransom used the blade to stab Ensign Beckett Mariner in the foot so as to keep her from participating in the fight. When he went to fight Vindor, he dropped the blade, instead fighting with his hands. (LD: "Temporal Edict")
