Bajoran Occupational Government

The Bajoran Occupational Government was the de jure government of Bajor during the Cardassian occupation. Like its successor, the Bajoran Provisional Government, it shared authority with the Vedek Assembly. However, unlike the provisional government that was installed after the Occupation's end, the occupational government had little real power, and was widely viewed as a puppet of the Cardassian Union, although Secretary Kubus Oak claimed that Bajor would have fared far worse under the occupation, had it not been for him and his administration. Oak was the liaison officer between the occupational government and the Cardassians, while Prylar Bek performed a similar function for the Vedek Assembly.

After the end of the Occupation, the provisional government instituted the Ilvian Proclamation for all collaborators, which permanently exiled all members of the occupational government from Bajor. Major Kira Nerys felt that those who had been ejected because of their collusion had gotten off easy. (DS9: "The Collaborator")
