Aura

An aura was light energy encircling an object or person.

In 2364, Jean-Luc Picard noted an aura surrounding Data while viewing him through the visual acuity transmitter that transmitted what Geordi La Forge's VISOR was seeing. When he pointed it out to La Forge, the latter found nothing unusual about the fact, as Data was an android. (TNG: "Heart of Glory")
