Assigned seat

An assigned seat was a station or seat that was reserved for certain individuals who were assigned to that post.

In 2256, when Michael Burnham went to take a station in engineering on the USS Discovery, Cadet Sylvia Tilly, who was at the station next to her, told her that they have assigned seats. This was an untruthful statement because she was afraid of how it would appear to other crew members standing next to a mutineer.

Upon meeting Lieutenant Paul Stamets he told her to take a station, informing her "it's not like we have assigned seats." (DIS: "Context Is for Kings")
