Army ant

An army ant was an aggressive species of ant, an insect native to Earth.

In developing a countermeasure to the Sphere computer virus in 2257, Commander Saru suggested programming "digital antibodies," noting it would "be a slow process, like army ants eating a water buffalo." (DIS: "An Obol for Charon")
