Arachna

Arachna was a "burned-out" supernova which was located in the Beta Quadrant. Cepheus was located near the gas cloud, and the nearest starbase was Starbase 23.

In 2269, the USS Enterprise conducted a science survey of Arachna in order to acquire updated measures of radiation and volume of expansion as the nova entered its cycle of strongest emissions.

The Enterprise coordinated with Starbase 23 during this mission, which it contacted on stardate 5577.3 to inform them that they had arrived at the gas cloud and had started mapping. (TAS: "The Terratin Incident")

The location of this supernova was inferred from the location of Starbase 23, which had been shown in star charts for Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds to be in the Beta Quadrant.
