Alcor system

The Alcor system was an inhabited star system in the Alpha Quadrant. It was a binary star system consisting of the two stars Alcor (the official name of Alcor) and Alcor B and at least four planets, including Alcor IV.

History

The Alcor system was known to Starfleet at least by the 23rd century, although it wasn't yet colonized until the far future.

The Alcor system was a long distance from the location at which the USS Discovery was abandoned for nearly a millennium. The distance was such that crossing it in a Class C shuttlecraft was theoretically possible but a stretch. (ST: "Calypso")

Stellar cartography

In 2324, the location of Alcor was labeled in a chart used during a Section 31 Alpha Team briefing. (Star Trek: Section 31)

Information on this system was derived from the episodes, the reference works Star Trek: Star Charts and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library, and real-world sources. The reference works were used extensively in the creation of star charts seen in Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Star Trek: Prodigy, and Star Trek: Lower Decks. The real-world information added to the article was current as of 2025.
