Administrative area

An administrative area was a region over which a Starfleet commodore had jurisdiction.

As of 2267, Gamma Hydra IV was within Commodore Stocker's administrative area, prompting Captain James T. Kirk to include him in a briefing regarding the sudden onset of rapid aging among the Gamma Hydra IV colonists. When Kirk explained this, Stocker expressed his appreciation for the courtesy.
