"Candidatus Aenigmatarchaeum"[1] is a monotypic genus of ultra-small archaea that belongs to the monotypic phylum "Aenigmatarchaeota".[2] It contains the sole species "Ca. Aenigmatarchaeum subterraneum".[3][1][4]
