Field Marker is used with Field Generator to select "which area of the map to protect". See the page Field Generator for "how it works" information.

Once placed in the world, the marker can be interacted with. It supports 3 modes Field Generator does, however it doesn't mimic appearance of wired Field Generator and have to be toggled manually.
