Desert Moon is a cold, airless, sand-filled moon. They are mostly safe and offer a good opportunity to mine Erchius fuel of both kinds without a threat of the ghost, as well as Plutonium. They tend to have low gravity.
Desert moons never appear as main planets - only as satellites. They can be found in hot, habitable, and cold areas of Red, Blue, and Binary stars, as well as in all areas of Dying stars.
Codex Description
- This desert moon is dry, frozen, dusty and unpopulated. Low temperatures mean you should bring some limited measure of cold protection.
- A lifeless desert moon. Take care, as the temperature is slightly freezing and will eventually prove fatal if you are not cautious.
- A cold, sandy desert moon. A thin layer of cold protection should be sufficient to protect you.

There's no air on the desert moon, so you will need breathing protection. You will also need low-tier cold protection.
