You can create scales harder than steel in certain parts of your body to protect yourself, forming something to an armor that is proportionally stronger to your own power. As a Reaction to being targeted by an attack roll, you must spend 3 Soul Power and 6 Magicules to increase your AC by your proficiency bonus against that attack.
