Necrotic is a damage type.

Necrotic damage drains life and withers the soul. It's derived mostly from necromancy and other vile magic, but mold and other decay can impart it as well.
Often, necrotic damage is the negative counterpart to the positive radiant damage.
This damage is associated with death, decay, and the leeching of life. It is known to cause numbness or a sense of lethargy, open sores as though caused by rot, and severe discoloration as a creature's body is broken down while it is still alive.
Constructs and corporeal undead sometimes resist necrotic damage. Beings of life and light, such as celestials, might be vulnerable to it.
