Improved First Aid (3.5e Variant Rule)
Improved First Aid as listed here is a variant use of the "First Aid" task under the Heal skill, meant to make replace the roll of low level magical healing items. If a character has negative hit points and is losing hit points (at the rate of 1 per round, 1 per hour, or 1 per day), you can make a Heal check to restore him hit points, and stop the hit point loss.
The amount of hit points regained depend on the result of your Heal check:

| 10—14 | 1 hit point |
| 15—19 | 2 hit points |
| 20—24 | 3 hit points |
| 25—29 | 4 hit points |
| 30—34 | 5 hit points |
| 35—39 | 6 hit points |
| 40—44 | 7 hit points |
| 45—49 | 8 hit points |
| 50+ | 9 hit points |
