In Pokémon Masters EX, the Trainer Settings (Japanese: あなたの設定Your Settings) menu allows players to customize the appearance of the player character, Scottie or Bettie. This feature can be accessed by selecting the profile card at the top of the Poryphone menu, navigating to the second page, and tapping the "Edit Look" button below the model of the player character. Players can access this menu at any time, allowing them to change the player character's gender, clothes, and other appearance options at any time.
During a customization session, switching between genders retains the chosen eye color, hair color, and outfit color options, but other head options are reset to the defaults.
Appearance
The appearance menu allows the player to choose their gender and skin color. There are four different skin color options for each player character, making a total of eight different appearance options.

The eye color menu allows the player to choose their eye color. There are eight different eye color options, which are the same for both player characters. The eye color options do not have names.
Head
The head menu allows the player to choose their hairstyle, bangs, hat, and hair color. Prior to version 2.28.0, released on December 26, 2022, this menu was simply called "Hair Color" and only allowed players to change their character's hair color.

There are a total of eight different hairstyles for each player character. Both player characters have a default, very short, short, perm, and braids hairstyle.

This option allows the player to choose the style of their bangs. There are only two options, bangs and no bangs. This option is available for all hairstyles except braids hairstyles.

Clothes
The clothes menu allows the player to choose the color of their clothes. There are currently six different clothing colors, but more clothing colors may be added over time. Except for the default color, all clothing colors must be unlocked.
