Sand Spit (Ability)

Sand Spit (Japanese: すなはき Sand Spit) is an Ability introduced in Generation VIII. It is the signature Ability of Silicobra and Sandaconda.

Effect

In battle

Sand Spit summons a sandstorm in battle for five turns when a Pokémon with Sand Spit is hit by a damaging move, unless a sandstorm is already present. This can be extended to eight turns if the Pokémon is holding a Smooth Rock.

Outside of battle

Sand Spit has no effect outside of battle.
