This is Training!?
(Japanese: これが修行！？ This is Training!?) is the fifteenth chapter of the Pokémon RéBURST manga.
Plot
At the Chabio Dojo, Ryouga's group are sleeping soundly. Rend wakes them up, greeting them a beautiful morning and has them clean the yard. As Rend trains his students, he tells Ryouga's group to do more housework. Yappy thinks doing these monotonous chores is the training method, pumping Ryouga working harder.
Sometime later, he finishes all the chores and believes he is a step closer to completing his Burst. However, Rend tells him that doing this is not how can achieve it. While Ryouga's basic stamina is much greater his, to complete his Burst he needs to do more than just physical strength. He tells him that he needs to sync his mind and heart with that of his Pokémon's, allowing them to make a new power, as doing so is the true power of Burst.
Rend reminisce about how well Garyu and Zekrom synced, making Ryouga ask how they did that. Rend answers that it was before Zekrom entered the Burst Heart. He tells them that way back when he and Garyu were part of a group that stopped those who abused Pokémon, Garyu and Zekrom were the strongest duo bounded by trust. Then one day a vicious organization that oppressed and abused appeared. In order to stop them, the power of Burst was needed, Zekrom sealed itself into a Burst Heart to fight alongside Garyu. Despite knowing it would not be able to leave, this was how much it trusted Garyu, and how they made such a perfect Burst. Yappy wonders how Ryouga would be able to do it if Zekrom is inside the Burst Heart. Rend tells them that there is a way, but gives Ryouga a shopping list and more chores to do.
Later, Ryouga comes back to the dojo after finishing the chores. Yappy tries to persuade Ryouga to stop, thinking that Rend is lying to them. Ryouga is adamant, believing in Rend, and that he would do anything to get a complete Burst. Overhearing their conversation, Rend asks Ryouga if would still do it if knows that he could die. Without hesitation, Ryouga says the he would. With this, Rend leads Ryouga to a room. He instructs him to put his Burst Heart on the stand in front of him. Rend, having Burst before hand, hits Ryouga from behind, the shockwave creating a hole in the wall in front of them. A terrified Miruto asks why he did that. Rend answers that he sent Ryouga's heart into the Burst Heart, so that he could tell Zekrom how he feels. In the Burst Heart, Ryouga jolts up from the pain, wondering where he is.
