Five Lugia PT Cruisers were made to promote the tour The Pokémon Gold and Silver Adventure Tour was a promotional tour held in the United States between September 1 and October 6, 2000. For this tour, five custom PT Cruisers were created featuring the likeness of Lugia . Each Lugia PT Cruiser was fitted with a television set and a Nintendo 64 for attendees to try games with.
The tour reached a total of 32 cities in the United States. Throughout the tour, a "Where will Lugia Land Next?" contest was held on Pokémon.com . This contest allowed users to vote for cities to be selected as stops on the tour in each of the five tour regions.
