PokéStop Showcase

PokéStop Showcases, or just Showcases, are contests held at PokéStops during certain time periods, typically corresponding to in-game events. PokéStop Showcases allow players to leave a Pokémon at a PokéStop to enter a timed contest for rewards. Each Showcase features either a certain species or type and a requirement to be judged against.

Players can compete with each other by placing a Pokémon at certain PokéStops. Player Pokémon can be ranked on size, and all participant trainers receive rewards at the end, with the top three ranked players earning items such as an Egg Incubator and a Star Piece.[1]

Each Showcase judges a specific Pokémon species or type based on size, with the Pokémon being given a certain amount of points based on how big it is. A leaderboard can be viewed to see how each participant's Pokémon placed.

Unlike placing a Pokémon at a Gym or Power Spot, entering a Pokémon into a Showcase does not lock it at the PokéStop; it is still able to be traded, transferred, or evolved. The Pokémon at the Showcase can also be swapped out for another that meets the same criteria. Remote swap outs are possible after entering a Showcase. If a Pokémon that is currently competing in another Showcase is swapped in, it will be removed from its original Showcase. An individual Pokémon can only be entered into one Showcase at a time. Each PokéStop Showcase can support 200 entrants. Players can enter up to three Showcases at a time. Additionally, any Pokémon that has recently placed first in a Showcase cannot participate in another Showcase for a limited time.
