The Pawniard Brothers (Japanese: コマタナ兄弟 Komatana Brothers) are a pair of characters from from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. They are know to rob Pokémon whom they see as gullible and weak for profit.
History
The Pawniard Brothers are first seen in Swanna's inn, where they decide to rob Dunsparce, who had just run off in tears after Virizion coldly rejected his offer of friendship. The two brothers encounter Dunsparce by the crossroads, offering to help him become stronger by training at Desolate Canyon, after ensuring that Dunsparce has money on him. Quagsire, seeing this exchange, tells the player, partner, and Emolga what he saw, prompting the three to head toward Desolate Canyon.
At Desolate Canyon, the Pawniard Brothers notice Dunsparce beginning to suspect there is something wrong, and so the brothers reveal their true intentions, demanding that Dunsparce hand over all his possessions. Dunsparce tries to run, but the Pawniard Brothers surround him with their gang, which consists of 2 Galvantula and 2 Venipede. The player, partner and Emolga appear, and with the help of Virizion, Gurdurr and his Timburr aides, they defeat the Pawniard Brothers and their gang.
After being defeated, the brothers flee, never to be seen again.
