Detective Chikorita (Japanese: チコリータはめいたんてい? Chicorita, Ace Detective?) is written by Akihito Toda and illustrated by Sumiyoshi Kizuki. It is the first book in the Gold and Silver Pokémon Tales series. It is 18 pages long.
Plot
Chikorita is a fan of the TV drama Great Detective Persian, and wanting to be a detective like him, calls his friends over to Mr. Noctowl's mansion so he can recreate a scene from the show where Persian catches a culprit who broke a vase. The other Pokémon point out that if the vase is broken there's no culprit, and Chikorita, growing frustrated, accidentally knocks over the vase he was using and breaks it. At that moment Mr. Noctowl comes home, and Chikorita confesses to breaking the vase. Noctowl says that Chikorita is so honest he can't be mad, and that as punishment the group will head up into the mountains tomorrow and all make vases.
Blurb
Chikorita wants more than anything in the world to be a detective like the ones on TV. But where to find a crime to solve?
