Transforming Metamon (Japanese: へんしんメタモン) is written and illustrated by Sumiyoshi Kizuki. It is the 8th book in the Japanese edition of the Pokémon Tales series. This book is in Japanese and has not been translated into English.
Plot
Ditto goes to meet up with its friend Cubone on a nice day, only to realize Cubone is feeling bad. Cubone says that it's thinking about its mom in Heaven and asks to be left alone, Ditto heading back home. Unable to take his mind off of Cubone, Ditto transforms into him- but still doesn't know how he feels because he's never felt alone before. Ditto's mother scolds it for transforming carelessly, and says that the best way to become someone else is by feeling what they're feeling. Ditto comes back to Cubone and, absorbing his emotion, transforms into a giant teardrop and start crying. Cubone asks what's wrong, and begins comforting Ditto, leading to him feeling better.

When it sees its friend Karakara looking down, Metamon uses its specialty, transformation, to try to comfort Karakara, but it doesn't go well. Metamon didn't understand Karakara's feelings.
