Trivia

  • This card's effect is similar to that of the Unidentified Fossil card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, but has 40 HP instead of 60 HP and only Aerodactyl can evolve from.
    • Old Amber also exists in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, but has 50 HP and also has a Poké-Body.
  • The Mythical Island print of this card is exactly the same as the Genetic Apex print, and thus, unlike other cards, an Old Amber card from any booster packs would be considered for both, including for Missions. This was identified as a bug in an in-game notice published on December 17, 2024.[1]

References

  1. The following issues occur with the Old Amber Trainer card:
    • When obtaining the Old Amber Trainer card from either the Genetic Apex booster packs only or Mythical Island booster packs only, the correct behavior is for the card's quantity to be registered into the booster packs' respective card dex, but there is currently an issue where it is also registered into the other booster packs' card dex.
    • When the Old Amber Trainer card is already obtained for either the Genetic Apex booster packs only or Mythical Island booster packs only, the correct behavior is for an animation sequence to trigger if the card is registered for the first time into the other booster packs' card dex, but there is currently an issue where the animation sequence does not trigger under this condition.
    • When obtaining the Old Amber Trainer card from either the Genetic Apex booster packs only or Mythical Island booster packs only, progress should be made only toward the booster packs' respective dex mission, but there is currently an issue where both booster packs' dex missions progress.

The issues above are planned to be fixed soon.
Once fixed, quantities registered in the card dex will be updated to their correct values.
The fix will also affect dex missions that are applicable to the above even if they are in-progress. However, if those missions are already completed at the time of the fix, they will not be reverted to incomplete status.

    We apologize for any inconvenience.
