Release information

This card was included in the Twilight Masquerade expansion, first released in the Japanese Transformation Mask expansion. In Japan, it was reprinted as a Mirror Holofoil SV-P Promotional card in the Ogerpon Special Jumbo Card Set, released on May 17, 2024. It was also reprinted as part of the Prismatic Evolutions special expansion, originating from the Japanese Terastal Fest ex subset.

Rulings

  • When using Ogre's Mask to switch an "Ogerpon ex" card in play with an "Ogerpon ex" card from the discard pile, all effects that happen with the Ogerpon ex being in play continues instantaneously on the new Ogerpon ex. These effects include, but are not limited to, the following:[1]
    • Using Ogre's Mask to switch an Ogerpon ex when Area Zero Underdepths is in play does not force the player to discard their Benched Pokémon down to 5.
    • When playing Acerola's Mischief on an Ogerpon ex and then using Ogre's Mask to swap it for another Ogerpon ex in the discard pile, the new Ogerpon ex retains the protection from Acerola's Mischief.
  • Using Ogre's Mask to switch an Ogerpon ex does not count as Benching it, so a card like Dangerous Ruins that places damage counters whenever a player Benches a Basic non-Darkness-type Pokémon does not place damage counters from this process.[1]
  • A player may use Ogre's Mask to switch their Teal Mask Ogerpon ex in play for another Teal Mask Ogerpon ex in the discard pile;[2] however, they may not re-use Teal Mask Ogerpon ex's "Teal Dance" Ability from this.[1]

Trivia

Origin

This card depicts the Teal Mask, Wellspring Mask, Hearthflame Mask, and Cornerstone Mask, all of which are items in the Pokémon games that are associated with Ogerpon. The latter three masks can be given for Ogerpon to hold in order to change its form.
