Janet (Japanese: メグミ Megumi) is a recurring character in Pokémon the Series.
History
Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire
Janet first appeared in All Things Bright and Beautifly!. She is a Pokémon Coordinator who entered the Rustboro City Contest alongside her friend and rival, Chaz. She passed the Appeals Round with a perfect score of 30 points and made it to the Contest Battles. In the final round, she and her Beautifly defeated Chaz and his Venomoth, granting her one more Ribbon.
May and Max assisted Janet during her Appeals Round by throwing plates while Beautifly used String Shot to break them. The experience and watching Janet's performaces inspired May to become a Pokémon Coordinator and to catch her very own Beautifly.
She reappeared in a flashback in All in a Day's Wurmple. She was also mentioned by May and Brock in The Winner by a Nosepass and Win, Lose or Drew!, respectively. Janet was mentioned by May again in Hi Ho Silver Wind!, who noted that they stayed in touch while traveling.
Pokémon Journeys: The Series
Janet appeared again in Battling as Hard as Stone!, watching Steven and Ash's Masters Eight Tournament battle on television.
