Release information

This card was included in the Dragons Exalted expansion with artwork by kawayoo, first released in the Japanese Dragon Blast expansion. It was later reprinted as an Ultra-Rare Secret card in the Plasma Freeze expansion with artwork by Ayaka Yoshida, which originated from the Japanese Thunder Knuckle expansion. It was reprinted again in the Legendary Treasures expansion with artwork by Tomoaki Imakuni, which originated from the Japanese EX Battle Boost subset. The Legendary Treasures print is Holofoil, whereas the EX Battle Boost print is Non Holofoil.

In Japan, the Dragon Blast print was reprinted twice more during the Scarlet & Violet Era as SV-P Promotional cards. The first, numbered 132/SV-P, was one of twelve cards that could be found in Extra Battle Day 2024 Promo Card Packs, which were distributed at Pokémon Card Gym venues hosting Extra Battle Day events from January 1, 2024.[1] The second, numbered 221/SV-P, was one of twelve cards that could be found in Extra Battle Day 2025 Promo Card Packs, which were distributed in the same manner at Pokémon Card Gym venues from January 1, 2025.[2] Both Promotional prints are Non Holofoil and feature the Extra Battle Day logo.

Trivia

Tomoaki Imakuni has said that the Legendary Treasures print was illustrated using Pokémon Art Academy.[3] This print of the card released a year ahead of Pokémon Art Academy, so Imakuni either had access to a developer version of the game, or it was drawn on a similar program such as Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!.

Origin

Sludge Toss is an attack that first appeared on Koga's Grimer from Gym Challenge. The Plasma Freeze print features a Shiny Garbodor. This card's Dragons Exalted and Legendary Treasures Pokédex entries come from Pokémon Black.
