Galactic Awakening (Japanese: ギンガ団の大いなる理想 Team Galactic's Grand Ideal) was a villain event in Pokémon Masters EX. It tied into the second part of the Sinnoh chapter of the Villain Arc, featuring battles against Team Galactic. It was one of the Sinnoh villain events, the others being Galactic Nightmare and Dreams of the Void.

During this event, players could earn vouchers and Palkia Crystals from battles against Team Galactic that could be redeemed in the shop for rewards, including a power boost for Cyrus & Palkia that would give them additional tiles on their sync grid. Obtaining 2,000 vouchers would reward players with a medal. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.

This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using various theme skills, earning medals and other rewards.

All sync pairs with the Sinnoh theme skill received a bonus to their Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def stats when used for this event, with the amount of the bonus varying between areas.

First run

The event first ran from February 10 to 28, 2022. The "Sygna Suit Cyrus Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Cyrus & Darkrai for the duration of the event, and the "Sygna Suit Dawn Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Dawn & Cresselia beginning on February 14 and lasting until the end of the event.

In this run, players could earn Dark-themed Event Vouchers H from battles. Event missions rewarded players with Gems and Battle Points for completing any of these battles a certain number of times, and the Battle Challenge mission rewards included a Strike and a Support Move Candy Coin.

Additionally, the music and artwork on the title screen were different than usual. The title screen artwork depicted Sygna Suit Cyrus & Darkrai, Sygna Suit Cynthia (Renegade) & Giratina, Sygna Suit Dawn & Cresselia, and Lucas & Dialga, and the background music wasBattle! (Cyrus) (Pokémon Masters EX Version).

Second run

The event reran from October 13 to 31, 2022. In this run, players could earn themeless Event Vouchers G from battles, and the mission rewards were changed to only award Gems and medals.

If the player had already received Cyrus & Palkia's power boost, exchanging for it in the shop again would reward the player with a 3★ Power-Up.

Third run

The event reran again from May 24 to June 10, 2023. In this run, players could earn Event Vouchers O from battles, and the amount of vouchers and Palkia Crystals received as completion rewards was increased drastically. Everything else was the same as the previous run.

Fourth run

The event ran for a fourth time from January 18 to February 1, 2024. The "Triple Feature Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Leon & Eternatus, Lucas & Dialga, and Sygna Suit Cynthia & Kommo-o from January 16 to the end of the event.

In this run, players could earn Event Vouchers E from battles. Everything else was the same as the previous run.

Fifth run

The event ran for a fifth time from August 9 to 23, 2024. The "Double Feature Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Lucas & Dialga and Sygna Suit Dawn & Cresselia from August 7 to the end of the event.

In this run, players could earn Event Vouchers S from battles, and the amount of vouchers received as completion rewards was decreased. Everything else was the same as the previous run.
