Release information
This card was included as a Regular card, a Full Art ultra rare card, a special illustration rare card, and a hyper rare card in the Destined Rivals expansion, first released in the Japanese Hot Wind Arena subset. The Regular, ultra rare, and hyper rare prints feature artwork by aky CG Works, while the special illustration rare print features artwork by Atsushi Furusawa.
The Ethan artworks on the Full Art ultra rare and hyper rare prints were illustrated by Hideki Ishikawa, who is uncredited on the cards.[1]
In Japan, the Regular print of this card is reprinted as an SV-P Promotional card alongside Cynthia's Garchomp ex and Arven's Mabosstiff ex, available in a promo pack given for winning Hot Wind Arena Sealed Battle tournaments held at Pokémon Card Gym sites in Japan from March 14 to May 31, 2025.[2] This print features the "Sealed Battle" stamp on the bottom left corner of the artwork.

Ethan being paired with Ho-Oh alludes to Ethan's original name of "Gold" and Ho-Oh's status as the game mascot of Pokémon Gold. Shining Feathers shares its Japanese name with Shining Feather, Decidueye's Burst Attack in Pokkén Tournament DX.
