Release information
This card was included in the Roaring Skies expansion, first released in the Japanese Emerald Break expansion and M Rayquaza-EX Mega Battle Deck. In Japan, it was reprinted as an unnumbered Mirror Holofoil XY-P Promotional card and was given away as part of Battle Festa 2015. Players participating in the CoroCoro Challenge event at each Battle Festa 2015 venue were awarded this card upon recording a single win at the 'Second Stage', which could be reached by recording a win at the 'First Stage' or by earning an 'Advantage Path' from prior Pokémon Card Gym Battle Festa 2015 Pre-Battle events held across Japan between October 1 and 31, 2015. Battle Festa 2015 was held at four locations across Japan: Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Exhibition Hall, Hiroshima on November 3, 2015; Pacifico Yokohama, Yokohama on November 7, 2015; Intex Osaka, Osaka on November 15, 2015; and Nagoya Trade & Industry Center, Nagoya on November 29, 2015.[1] This print features both the Battle Festa 2015 and CoroCoro Challenge logos.
It was reprinted in Japan as another unnumbered XY-P Promotional card and was awarded to the finalist, runner-up, and losing semi-finalists of each CoroCoro Ichiban! Mega Salamence Gym Battle, which were held at participating Pokémon Card Gym venues between August 1 and September 30, 2016. This competition was limited to elementary school students.[2] This print is Non Holofoil, features the Pokémon Card Gym logo, and has a stamp underneath the effect text that reads "Mega Salamence Gym Battle prize". Double Dragon Energy was later reprinted in the Japanese The Best of XY subset, the Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Deck Build Boxes, and the Extra Regulation Box.
The Japanese Emerald Break print was reprinted twice more during the Scarlet & Violet Era as SV-P Promotional cards. The first, numbered 142/SV-P, was one of twelve cards that could be found in Extra Battle Day 2024 Promo Card Packs, which were distributed at Pokémon Card Gym venues hosting Extra Battle Day events from January 1, 2024.[3] The second, numbered 231/SV-P, was one of twelve cards that could be found in Extra Battle Day 2025 Promo Card Packs, which were distributed in the same manner at Pokémon Card Gym venues from January 1, 2025.[4] Both prints are Non Holofoil and feature the Extra Battle Day logo.
