Don Roger (Japanese: ドン・ロジャー Don Roger) is a character in Pokémon Duel. He is the owner of The Volcano and the leader of the Roger family.
Deck
Plot
During the Pokémon Figure Game (PFG) World Championships on Carmonte Island, Don Roger employs the help of Joe and Brenda to acquire the Gemini AI devices Carlo and Another - with the stated goal of using them to eliminate AI from PFG, as he feels its introduction invalidated the value of player skill in the game.
While Joe is able to locate the devices on the player and Luca, he and Brenda are defeated by the player and unable to take them. Don Roger steps in and challenges the player to a duel at The Volcano, with Carlo as a wager to be taken by the winner - but Roger is defeated as well. As a backup plan, he arranges for Joe to kidnap Tia, Luca's sister, so that he can coerce Luca to obtain Carlo in exchange for her freedom. Soon afterwards, the dormant Another personality becomes active in Luca's device, and strikes a deal with Roger to further his goals to change PFG - in exchange for Tia to be released early. Roger accepts, but now without leverage, Another and Luca begin to act alone.
After having his plans fail, Don Roger re-thinks his stance - he still wishes to change PFG for the better, but realizes that this is not his path to choose. Instead, he sees the player's passion for PFG as the guiding force for the game's future. As such, he pivots the goals of the Roger family to instead support the player's chosen path, rather than trying to stop them or bend their will.
