The Distortion Slate (Japanese: やぶれたせきばん Torn Slate) is a type of Slate introduced in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl in the version 1.1.0 update. It is only available for purchase after catching Regirock, Regice, Registeel, and Giratina.

Effect

The Distortion Slate can be used inside of the Distortion Room in Ramanas Park in order to fight an Origin Forme Giratina. Unlike other Legendary Pokémon in Ramanas Park, however, this one looks far darker than normal and cannot be caught. It must be defeated instead.

Trivia

The Distortion Slate resembles a Pokémon Platinum cartridge, the game in which Giratina was the game mascot of. Its name is derived from the Distortion World, where Giratina resides in the aforementioned game.
