The 2023-24 Standard format of the Pokémon Trading Card Game is the Standard format that was used for Play! Pokémon organized play and in most sanctioned tournaments worldwide between April 14, 2023 and April 4, 2024. It was also used in Pokémon TCG Live. This was the first standard rotation where cards were rotated out based on the regulation mark of the card, rather than by what set they belonged to. While Pokémon Trading Card Game Online was functional during the early portions of this period, it did not rotate to this Standard format.

Play period

The 2023-24 Standard format was announced on December 12, 2022, rotating out cards with the D regulation mark.

  • Pokémon TCG Live: March 31, 2023 to March 21, 2024
  • Official Tournaments: April 14, 2023 to April 4, 2024

Rule changes

Cards with the D regulation mark are rotated out. Cards with a E, F, G or later regulation mark remain legal.

The Scarlet & Violet era introduced Pokémon Tool cards as a distinct class of Trainer separate from Item cards. As such starting in this standard format, all Pokémon Tool cards from the Sword and Shield era receive errata and are no longer considered Item cards.
