  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks: Fans of the original comics didn't like how Riddler was changed from an greedy egomaniac who doesn't care if people are killed in his traps for what they feel to be a generic Well-Intentioned Extremist with a Dark and Troubled Past to boot.
  • They Copied It, So It Sucks: Many critics of the movie bring up how reminiscent of Se7en the serial killer's methods and reasons are.
  • What Do You Mean It's Not Political?: Despite the fact no political parties are mentioned, much less political ideologies of the mayoral candidates of Gotham, that didn't stop sites like TV Tropes and users of Reddit of associating Bella Royal with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a federal representative who was relatively famous when the movie was released.
