  • Fandom Rivalry: Inevitably, with fans of the original series. And we say inevitably because fans of the Abridged series infamously spread a meme around to how Abridged is better than the original, something SAO fans are tired of hearing as is just feels like yet another instance of people relentlessly bashing the work they love, with the aggravating part of Abridged being, well, a parody who uses the original series' plot, premise, characters and uses the animation footage of the original, so it is feels like fans of Abridged are trying to appropriate SAO of their creators, that is, the writers and artists involved in the creation of the original light novel and its animated adaptation.
