These things about Sony's Spider-Man Universe are subjective - not everyone will agree with all of them.

  • Broken Base: Sony's attempt to create a shared cinematic universe based on Spider-Man characters without using Spider-Man has gotten this response. While some feel that it makes sense since Spider-Man has a large number of related characters who could carry a film, others think that without Spider-Man these attempts are doomed to fail and that Sony is just trying to hold onto the film rights, which stops the MCU from making better versions.
  • Friendly Fandoms: To a certain degree, with the Sam Raimi and Marc Webb Spider-Man film series, mainly due to all of them having a fandom rivalry with the MCU.
  • Friendly Rivalry: With the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially fans of the MCU Spider-man films.
  • What Do You Mean It's Not for Kids?: Compared to the MCU, this shared universe doesn't shy away from mature content.
