Linus Tech Tips provides examples of the following tropes:
- Author Appeal: Computer hardware.
- Canada, Eh?: Often reminds viewers they are in Canada when US specific factors are brought up.
- Crossover: Has done collaborations with other channels, such as MKBHD, with the tongue in cheek EXPOSING MKBHD'S FAKE VIDEOS (Studio Tour) video.
- Early Installment Weirdness: Early videos are produced on a far lower budget. This also applies to the NCIX era.
- Freemium: Offers some exclusive content on Floatplane.
- Memetic Mutation: The Sad Linus and Selfie Linus face.
- The Merch: Has an online store selling screwdrivers, backpacks, and apparel.
- No Budget: In the earlier videos, there is clearly far less budget available for production.
- Product Placement: Often features their screwdriver, along with a plug for their online store.
