Coolio/Trivia
Trivia about Coolio includes:
- Disowned Adaptation: He initially expressed disapproval over "Weird Al" Yankovic's "Gangsta's Paradise" parody "Amish Paradise", claiming he did not give Yankovic his blessing. This public feud lasted for several years until Coolio expressed regret over his negative reaction to Al's work, stating that it was rather unwise and egotistic of him to lash out at an acclaimed parodist whom Coolio remembered to have worked with Michael Jackson with several parodies.
- No Export for You: Coolio.com was, for some reason, released exclusively in Japan; several songs from the album were however included in El Cool Magnifico.
- So My Kids Can Watch: Coolio recorded the song "Dexter (What's His Name?)" as part of the compilation album Dexter's Laboratory: The Hip-Hop Experiment inspired by the cartoon show of the same name. He was reportedly a fan of Dexter's Laboratory and was more than eager to come up with a song inspired by the show; "I didn't really know what I wanted to do at first, but I knew I wanted it to be positive and lively." He also sought the opinions of his children who watched the show and were present in the studio during recording sessions.
